The tradition of married men wearing Wedding Rings wasn’t common until the Equal Rights Movement in the 1960’s, but since the custom has grown in popularity, the options have multiplied as well. The Lord Thompson Manor recommends that couples discuss their preferences before purchasing their Wedding Bands. There are two things in particular they should keep in mind: the metals that rings are made of, and the possibility of precious stones.

Wedding Bands are frequently solid metals, but it has recently been popular for both women’s and men’s Wedding Rings to incorporate precious stones as well. In men’s rings, the focus still tends to be on the metallic band; the stones tend to be small. Some Grooms prefer Wedding Bands with just a few small stones flush set at even intervals around the center of the band; the stones are set in tapered holes in the band, and their surfaces are in line with the precious metal. Others opt for a bit more pizzazz, and choose rings with channel set stones. These stones are lined up within the band, flush to it, all the way around, with thin lines of the precious metal along the top and bottom to hold them in place.
